A One-Knob Looper: Capture a Slice on the Beat, Then Roll It All the Way to a Buzz.
Spool catches a slice of whatever is playing and repeats it. Press CAPTURE and it starts exactly on the next beat of your song, or on the next hit it hears, lets the sound through for one pass and then loops that slice. No latency, no jump: the first pass is your live sound.
Then turn INTENSITY. The loop gets shorter and shorter, from a beat repeat to an eighth-note roll, a machine-gun roll and finally a pitched buzz. Automate it for build-ups, step it for fills that stay in time, release CAPTURE and the live sound is back in 5 ms. The screen shows the captured slice, the loop that is playing and its length in milliseconds, hertz and notes.

How does Spool work exactly?
Every control, then the three steps.
- CAPTURE – Starts the loop on the next grid line or hit; off brings the live sound back.
- INTENSITY – Shortens the loop, from the whole slice to a buzz. Or drag the screen.
- SIZE – Length of the captured slice, from 1 bar to 1/32, locked to your tempo.
- RANGE – How short the loop gets at 100 %, from a division by 8 to 128.
- CURVE – Smooth shrinking or steps that stay on the grid.
- START – Capture on the grid or on the next attack.
- EDGES – Hard, punchy joins or soft, rounded repeats.
- Insert Spool on a drum loop, a vocal or a bus and press play.
- Press CAPTURE: on the next beat the slice starts repeating.
- Turn or automate INTENSITY for rolls, risers and buzzes, then release CAPTURE on the drop.

Does it stay in time with my song?
Yes. The capture starts on your song's grid to the sample, the slice length follows the tempo, and in STEPS mode every repeat lands on the grid. With the transport stopped, Spool keeps its own clock at the song tempo.
Will it change my sound when it is not looping?
No. With CAPTURE off the sound passes through untouched, and Spool adds no latency.
Which formats and systems?
Mac: VST3 and AU on macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows: VST3 on Windows 10/11 (64-bit). AAX for Pro Tools is not available yet.
How does the licence work?
A licence key is emailed right after purchase. Paste it in the plugin (or in the free TuneDrip Hub for macOS and Windows, which on Windows also installs the plugin) and click Activate: one internet connection, then the plugin works offline. Each key activates up to 3 computers; write to info@tunedrip.com to reset them.
