What is in a TuneDrip vocal preset pack

Every pack is built around one vocal style and ships the same five chains. The Singing chain is the lead, the Rap chain is tighter and more upfront, Doubles sits behind the lead to thicken it, Adlibs is filtered and pushed to the sides, and SFX is the creative one, with heavier delay, reverb or distortion. Each chain combines EQ, compression, de-essing, delay and reverb, with saturation, doubling or pitch effects when the style calls for them.

The DAW versions use the stock plugins that come with each DAW, so nothing else needs to be installed. The Waves version uses Waves plugins such as F6, C1, RVox, DeEsser, H-Delay, RVerb and Doubler; the UAD version uses UAD plugins such as the Oxford EQ, API 2500, Fairchild 670, Precision De-Esser and Pure Plate. Each pack page lists the exact plugins of its Waves and UAD chains in “What's in the pack”.

How to use a vocal chain

• Record your vocal with peaks around −10 dBFS, so the compressors in the chain react as they were set.
• Load the chain that matches the part: Singing for the lead, Rap for verses, Doubles and Adlibs on their own tracks.
• Set the input gain first, then adjust the reverb and delay sends to the tempo and space of your beat.

Vocal presets or a vocal plugin?

A preset pack gives you one finished sound in the tools you already own.
