Automatic Vocal Alignment: Your Doubles, Harmonies and Ad-libs Locked to the Lead, Pitch Untouched.
Trace pulls a vocal take onto the timing of your lead. Put it on the double, the harmony or the choir part, send the lead to its sidechain, press CAPTURE and play the section. When you stop, every attack, every vowel and every phrase ending of the take has been moved onto the lead, stretched or squeezed word by word without changing its pitch or its tone. The screen shows both voices and draws a line from where each moment was to where it now lands.
TIGHTNESS decides how far it goes, from untouched to locked, so a stack can stay human. MAX STRETCH keeps long notes natural, protected zones leave a breath or a late ad-lib exactly where it was, and PITCH can pull a double onto the lead's notes too. Print the result with RENDER WAV or drag it straight onto a track: the file is identical to what you hear. In a hurry, LIVE mode aligns as the song plays, with a latency your DAW compensates.

How does Trace work exactly?
Every control, then the three steps.
- CAPTURE – Records the lead and the take while your song plays, then aligns the take when you stop.
- TIGHTNESS – From the take as recorded to fully locked on the lead.
- MAX STRETCH – The most a word may be stretched or squeezed.
- RANGE – How far Trace searches, up to half a second either way.
- PITCH – Pulls the take's pitch towards the lead's, folded to the octave, for doubles.
- PROTECT – Shift-drag on the screen: zones left exactly as recorded.
- RENDER / DRAG WAV – The aligned take as a WAV, identical to playback.
- Insert Trace on the take and send the lead vocal to its sidechain input.
- Press CAPTURE, play the section, stop: the take is aligned.
- Adjust TIGHTNESS, protect what must stay, then RENDER WAV or drag the file onto a track.

Frequently asked questions
Any other question? Write to info@tunedrip.com.
Does it change the pitch or the sound of my take?
No. Trace moves and stretches the take with overlapping grains kept in phase, so the pitch and the tone stay the same (measured within about one cent on our test voices). Pitch is only changed if you raise PITCH.
Can I align several takes to the same lead?
Yes. Put one Trace on each take and send the same lead to all of them. Each take is aligned on its own, and each can have its own tightness.
Which formats and systems?
Mac: VST3 and AU on macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows: VST3 on Windows 10/11 (64-bit). AAX for Pro Tools is not available yet.
How does the licence work?
A licence key is emailed right after purchase. Paste it in the plugin (or in the free TuneDrip Hub for macOS and Windows, which on Windows also installs the plugin) and click Activate: one internet connection, then the plugin works offline. Each key activates up to 3 computers; write to info@tunedrip.com to reset them.
